Perimeter of triangle is 300m. Its sides are in ratio 5:12:13. Find the length of the longest

altitude of the triangle.

Explanation:

Perimeter=300m

Ratio=5,12,13

Let the length be x

5x+12x+13x=300

30x=300

×=300/30

x=10

The length of 1st altitude= 5x=5(10)=50m

The length of 2nd altitude=12x=12(10)=120m

The length of 3rd altitude=13x=13(10)=130m

The length of the longest altitude is the 3rd length which is 130m
