Personification:
Personification is a literary device in
which a thing, an idea, an object or an
animal is given human-like qualities.
For example:
1. A host, of golden Daffodils;
Beside the Lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the
breeze. (The daffodils are said to be
dancing like humans.)
2. Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
(The moon is said to use shoes and
walk.)
What has been personified in this poem?
