Pesticides and fertilizers are sprayed in fields.

When rain occurs , this fertilizers get washed away and they may enter water bodies.

This is also termed as surface run off .

Surface run off is a major cause of water pollution.

It results in eutrophication or the excess of nutrients in a water body.

It also results in terrible consequences of living organisms in water bodies.
