let the common multiple be x..

according to given condition,

2x + x +x =36

4x = 9

Peter = 2x = 2 ×9 = £18

Gordon = Gavin = x = £9

Let the ratio be 2x ,1x and 1x

ATQ,

=2x+1x+1x = 36

= 4x = 36

= x = 36/4

= x = 9
