let no of stamps sam has to give be 'x'

therefore new no of stamps sam has after giving peter will be 63-x

and peter will get 96+x

now, 96+x = 2(63-x)

96+x = 126-2x

3x = 30

therefore x= 10

thus sam should give peter 10 stamps

new no of stamps sam has = 63-10 = 53

new no of stamps peter has = 96+10= 106

53*2=106
