Phosphorus cycle is the biogeochemical cycle that describes the movement of phosphorus, through the lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. On the land phosphorus usually becomes less available to plants over thousands of years since it is slowly lost in run off.Phosphorus moves in a cycle through rocks , water , soil and sediments and organisms.Over time rain and weathering cause rocks to release phosphate ions and other minerals. This inorganic phosphate is then distributed in water.Phosphorus is most commonly found in rocks formation and ocean sediments as phosphate salt.

If you want you can shorten the sentence by cutting some lines from it.

Phosphorus in soil can end up in waterways and eventually oceans. Once there, it can be incorporated into sediments over time.....
