Seawater :

Sea water has more than 3% of salt present in it. It is much more saline and the greater the value of salt present in the water the greater will be the basicity of the water.

Sea water has high heat capacity and has more capacity to store heat in the water. It can very easily conduct heat and also release heat. Sea water acts as a thermostat at the freezing point.

Sea water has the highest latent heat of fusion in it.

Sea water has the highest amount of chlorine present in it along with the presence of calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, etc.

Terrestrial water or Freshwater :

Terrestrial or freshwater has less than 0.5 % to 1% of salt present in it.

This water has less salinity in it and is neutral in nature because of the presence of low salt in it.

1975 oxygen is said to be dissolved more easily in the freshwater as compared to the sea water. Temprature fluctuations are most commonly recorded in freshwater or terrestrial water.

Terrestrial water has very less quantity of chlorine present in it and also very less quantity of other elements.
