Answer :-

Physical change are generally :-

  1. Temporary
  2. Reversible

Explanation :-

Physical changes are :-

  • The change is temporary and reversible.
  • The composition of the substance doesn't change.
  • There is no energy change.
  • There, is no change in mass
  • No new substances are formed.
  • A physical change may cause changes in state, shape, size and colour of the substance.

For example :-

If we take a glass of water, and put it on the freezer or refrigerator, the water which was kept on the glass freezes and forms ice, if that ice is left in open, it melts and changes back to water. And when, the water is boiled, it changes to water vapour ( steam ), and when the water vapour is cooled it changes back to water. So, it's a physical change.

  • No new substance is formed.
  • The change is temporary
  • It's reversible.

Some more examples are :-

  • Tearing of paper.
  • Breaking of a glass tumbler.
  • Sublimation.
  • Glowing of an electric bulb.
