Hey

Here is your answer,

1) In solid state, the constituent atoms and molecules have lower energy than that in liquid phase. The low energy and dominant attractive forces causes the molecules to cling together and form a hard substance with definite volume. However, in liquid, the molecules have higher energy of motion and move randomly. They donot cling together as a hard substance but have a tendency to flow( though not as great as gases), hence due to the flow property, the liquids take over the shape of container

2) Gasses got less density than solids and liquids. Due to this reason their molecules tends to expands in surrounding more than those of solids and liquids.

Hope it helps you!
