Answer:

a) Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points. Therefore, V = RI where R is a constant called resistance. R depends on the dimensions of the conductor and also on the material of the conductor. Its SI unit is Ohm (Ω).

Explanation:

1.a)Ohm's Law states that the current flowing in a circuit is directly proportional to the applied potential difference and inversely proportional to the resistance in the circuit. In other words by doubling the voltage across a circuit the current will also double

.The resistance of a conductor depends on the cross sectional area of the conductor, the length of the conductor, and its resistivity. It is important to note that electrical conductivity and resistivity are inversely proportional, meaning that the more conductive something is the less resistive it is.

b)A quantitative form of Joule's law is that the heat evolved per second, or the electric power loss, P, equals the current I squared times the resistance R, or P = I2R. The power P has units of watts, or joules per second, when the current is expressed in amperes and the resistance in ohms
