Correct the following statement :

The intermolecular force of attraction increases if the intermolecular space between molecules increases and vice versa.

This question kinda confused me. Please answer it correctly.​

  • Intermolecular space between the molecules is not increased in an increase of intermolecular force of attraction, because the intermolecular force of attraction holds the molecule and when it is increasing, the atoms get closer, so intermolecular space get decreased.
