average speed = 2v1v2/v1+v2= 2{40}{20}/[40}+{20}= 26.66

If an object moves half distance with v1 velocity and next half with v2 velocity then average velocity = 2v1v2/v1 + v2

=> here v1 =40km/h
v2 = 20km/h

avg velocity = 2 x 40 x 20/ 40 + 20
=> 1600/60
=> 26.67 km/h

1Ayush786: but it has ask average speed
1Ayush786: not Vav
crazysp3: both are same in magnitude as it is going in straight line motion
