Answer:

Work And Energy

Whenever a force makes a body move than work is said to be done.  For doing work energy is required . When the work is done by human beings or animals then the energy for doing work is supplied by the food which they eat and when the work is done by machines then energy supplied by fuels or by electricity. when work is done and equal amount of energy is used up .

Work means almost any physical or mental activity but in physics it has only one meaning :  work is done when the force produces motion .

The work done by a force on a body depends upon two factors

  1. Magnitude of force and
  2. Distance through which the body moves .

Work done in a moving body is equal to the product of force exerted on the body and the distance moved by the body in the direction of force.

When a body is moved on the ground by applying force then the work is done against friction.

work is the product of force and distance.  so , unit of force is Newton and that of distance is metre . Hence ,  the unit of force is Newton metre. the unit of work is called Joule. work is a scalar quantity. whenever work is done against gravity is the amount of work done is equal to the product of weight of the body and the vertical distance through which body is lifted.

Energy is the ability to do the work. The amount of energy possessed by a body is equal to the amount to work it can do when its energy is released. whenever work is done, energy is consumed. energy scalar quantity  . It has only magnitude but no direction..

The unit of work and energy are same.

Joule is a small unit of energy. So sometimes a bigger unit of energy called kilojoule is used. There are different types of energy .
