pipe A can fill in 8 hours and pipe B can fill in 6 hours. if both the piepes are opened and after 2 hours Pipe A is closed then what time taken to fill pipe B?

Part of the tank filled by pipe A and B in 2 hours = 2(1/8 + 1/6) = 7/12
Remaining part = 1 - 7/12 = 5/12
This part is to be filled by B
Therefore, required,
= 5/12 * 6 = 5/2 = 2.5 hours...
