orange and yellow lights are used in fog lights as they have a lower wavelength than blue light. as scaterring is inversely proportional to the fourth power of wavelength, yellow and orange light can travel longer distances even in the fog.

red orange yellow lights are used all for this reason.
Why isn't red light used
red light can be used...but it is a bit darker than yellow and orange so it is not probable for this purpose.
