When working together both the pipes can fill the tank in 2 hours.

Pipe A fills the tank at 30 m³/ hr

=> in two hours pipe A will fill = 30 x 2 = 60 m³

Pipe B can fill the tank in 3 hours

=> In 2 hours pipe B will fill 2/3 of the tank = 2V/3

Hence when working together we get,

60 + 2V/3 = V

=> V - 2V/3 = 60

=> V/3 = 60

=> V = 180 m³

Hence the volume of the tank is 180 m³
