Answer:

the insectivourous plants grow in soil which don't contain sufficient nitrogen material in it. these plants (pitcher plant) are green and carry out photosynthesis

to obtain a part of food required by them. but they dont get the nitrogen from the soil which they grow in so insectivourous pr carnivorous plants like pitcher plants feed on insects while performing photosynthesis to fulfil the nitrogen needed for their growth.

Pitcher plant does not contain a suffiecient amount of nitrogen so it feeds on insects to fulfill that requirement. And it is a green plant i.e. it has chlorophyll so it carries out photosynthesis. photosynthesis is a process that is carried out with the hepl oh H20 and C02 in the presence of sunlight. hence pitcher plant carries out photosynthesis and eats insects at the same time.
