Pitcher plant is green in colour then why is it insectivorous in nature

because the soil level in which it is found is low in nutrition and also the green colour is also used by it to camouflage in enviroment

This is because they are grown in swampy areas where the soil is deficient in nitogen so to fullfil the need of nitogen they feed on insects.
