The Third Carnatic War ( 1756 - 1760 )
It was the extension of the seven year war in Europe that is started in 1756. In this war, the French lost almost everything they had in India. Their military general, Count De Lally who had replaced Dupleix was recalled, condemned and executed.
3. Pitt's India Act of 1784 rectified the defects of Regulating Act of 1773 and to make the administration of the company's Indian territories efficient and responsible. This act provided the supreme control over company's affairs and its administration in India.
