2. Most of the light from the atmosphere is absorbed by the pupil and only small amount is reflected back.thus pupils are black / dark.

3. a) Rod shaped cells : They are helpful in achromatic night vision.Found in the periphery of retina.

Cone shaped cells :They are helpful in colored day vision.Found in the centre of retina.
