Place A and B are 80 km apart from each other on a highway . A car starts from A and other from B at the same time. If they move in the same direction , they meet in 8 hrs and If they move in opposite direction , they meet in 1 hour 20 min . Find the speeds of the cars..

let the speed of car at b :y km\hr 8x-8y=80
x-y=20............(1)
-x-y=80............(2)
= -2y =-60
y= 30
substituting the value of y in equation (1)
x-y =20
x-30=20

10 + y = 60 - y

y = 25

Putting value of y in ( i )
