place a fist of bengal gram(or any other seeds) seeds in a bowl of water.Do you find some seeds float while others sink?

- why do some seeds float and others sink?
- which seeds do you think will germinate and why?
- which seeds do you think will not germinate and why?
- which seeds do you think farmers should use for sowing in the field?

- The seed sink because it has cotyledons (food reserves)while the seed which sink has shrunken cotyledon.
-The seed which have meristematic cells and cotyledon for nourishment will germinate.
- The seeds which do not have meristematic cells and cotyledon will not germinate.
- The seeds which germinate will be used for sowing.

Here is your answer

As we know the objects with less density than water will float

In some seeds nutrients won't be there they are dead seeds they won't have nutrients in them they will not be suitable for seeding if sow also they won't germinate

We can sow sunk seeds because they have nutrients in that and they will germinate very well
