Places A and B are 30 km apart and they are on a struight road. Homid travels
from A to B on bike. At the same time Joseph starts from B on bike, travels towards A. They meet each other after 20
minutes. if Joseph would have started from B at the same
time but in the opposite direction (instead of towards A)
Hamid would have caught him after 3 hours. Find the speed
of Hamid and Joseph.

Let x be Hamid's speed in km/h and y be Joseph's speed in km/hr

So, d= s× t

xt + yt= 30

x ×(20/60)hr + y×(20/60)hr= 30

x/3+y/3=30

x+y=90

x=90-y

Now,

, difference between their final destination= 30

as Hamid started from A and joseph from B

which means x-y=30

or x= 30+y

After 3 hours

3x= 3y+ 30

3(90-y)=3y+30

270-3y=3y+30

6y=240

y=40

therefore x= 90-40= 50
