Answer:

The speed of first bike is 30.075 km/h

The speed of second bike is 30.075 km/h .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The distance between two Places A and B = D = 80 km

Let The speed of bike from place A = v km / h

Let The speed of bike from place B = u km/h

When bikes travel in same direction

Relative speed of bikers = (v - u) km/h

The time taken by both bikes to meet = T = 8 hours

According to question

Distance = Speed × Time

Or, 80 km = (v - u) km/h × 8 h

Or, v - u = \dfrac{80}{8}

i.e v - u = 10  km/h               .........1

Again

When bikes travel in opposite direction

Relative speed of bikers = (v + u) km/h

The time taken by both bikes to meet = t = 1 hour + 20 min

i.e  t = ( 1 + \dfrac{20}{60} ) hour

Or, t =1.33 hours

According to question

Distance = Speed × Time

Or, 80 km = (v + u) km/h × 1.33 h

Or, v + u = \dfrac{80}{1.33}

i.e  v + u = 60.15  km/h                   .........2

Solving eq 1 and 2

(v + u) + (v - u) = 60.15 + 10

Or, (v + v) + (u - u) = 70.15

Or, 2 v + 0 = 70.15

Or, v = \dfrac{70.15}{2}

i.e  v = 35.075  km/h

So, the speed of first bike = v = 30.075  km/h

put the value of v into eq 2

∵  v + u = 60.15

Or, 30.075 + u = 60.15

Or, u = 60.15 - 30.075

i.e  u = 30.075  km/h

So, the speed of second bike = u = 30.075  km/h

Hence, The speed of first bike is 30.075 km/h and The speed of second bike is 30.075 km/h . Answer
