The postman should go along a path in which he has to travel the least distance so that he can complete all deliveries in minimum time. This will increase the overall efficiency of the job. There might be other factors to be taken into account like traffic on certain routes at certain times of the day. He should therefore divide the entire area he has to cover into smaller areas and finish all deliveries in one area before moving onto an adjacent area.
