Plants store food in form of starch instead of glucose since glucose is soluble in water it is harder to store because it increases the concentration of the cells but starch is an insoluble molecule, therefore, it can be stored in the cells.

  • Well, in plants carbohydrates are stored as a form of Glucose that is mainly formed by the process Photosynthesis.
  • Some plants like Carrots, Beets etc. stores it inside their interior parts of their body like Root, Stems etc.
  • On the other hands, some plants also store Carbohydrate as a form of Starch (Potatoes).
  • Carbohydrates are an essential compound of all organic life on this planet. Both plants and animals use carbohydrates as a primary source of energy, which keeps the body functioning at the most basic level.
  • Carbohydrates also fulfill other needs by helping in the synthesizing of other chemicals and providing structure for cells within the body.
