From vegetative propagation, simply because the plant already has a head start, with leaf formation already begun. Even though it has to develop roots, it's still almost forming new leaves and growing upwards simply because it has the water supply to do so. The new growth also force the roots much more than teeny new first few leaves that sprout from a seed.
