it gives shape and structure to the cell.
it is the outermost layer of the cell and protects the inner parts .
it is made up of proteins and lipids.
it is also called as selectivily permeable membrane

Functions of Plasma Membrane-

1). It maintains the individuality of the cell (separates the cell from one another).

2). It provides a shape to the cell.

3). It protects the cell from injury.

4). It provides selectivity (only selected substances to be in or out such as food, water,salt, minerals, vitamins, hormones,O2).

5). It binds the cell organelles together within the cytoplasm.

6). Plasma membrane allows cell to provide food by the process of endocytosis.
