plasma membrane is permeable to water ,how does cell show endosmosis or exosmosis?

It is due to the process of osmosis. Osmosis is the process of movement of water from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. In endosmosis the solution is hypo-tonic  and there is more water outside compared to inside so water moves in. and vice-versa in case of exosmosis.
