see, When the cell is placed in the hypertonic solution, the water moves out of the cell because concentration of solute is greater then that of cell. Here, water moves out of the cell. This process of water coming out is known as EXOSMOSIS.
Endosmosis is exactly opposite of this process. When cell is placed in hypotonic solution concentration of solute is less than that of cell. So, water comes inside of the cell .
this process of water coming inside is known as ENDOSMOSIS.
