no need to prove it, single bond's BL > double bond's BL.

If you are thinking about resonance, then NO, it won't occur here because oxygen (in -C=O) has no vacant orbital to accumulate the negative charge.

a is absolutely greater than b , because single bond is weaker than double bond ; because in double bond sigma as well as pi bond both are present and partial overlapping of a Pi bond makes it more stronger.

hence obviously, bond length is inversely proportional to the bond strength. so double bond is more stronger than single bond.
