plastic is used for making a large variety of articles of daily use and these articles are very attractive.but it is advised to avoid the use of plastic as far as possible.why?

•They are non renewable resources
•They are non biodegradable
•They harm the environment by blocking drains
•They have poor ductility
•The biodegradation of plastic takes 600-1000years

★ plastic is Non- biodegradable , it means it takes many -many years to decompose.

★ It causes environmental pollution by accumulation.

★ The pollution caused by plastics can be reduced by :-

• Reducing the usage of plastic.

• Recycling of used plastic and reuse it.

★ If plastics are burnt, they release harmful , polluting gases which results in various respiratory problems.

★ we should always take cotton bags or jute bags while going for shopping, and at the same time we should encourage the shopkeeper to deliver the goods in paper bags which are biodegradable, as plastic bags releases poisonous substances, when food items are wrapped in plastics , it may cause various health issues.

★ plastics can also block the sewage system, which may results in the overflow of drains.
