WHAT ARE PLATELETS?
- Platelets are tiny blood cells that help your body form clots to stop bleeding.
HOW DO PLATELETS HELP?
- If one of your blood vessels gets damaged, it sends out signals to the platelets.
- The platelets then rush to the site of damage.
- They form a plug (clot) to fix the damage.

Answer:
- Platelets disintegrate at the site of wound to release a substance thrombokinase.
- Thrombokinase acts as an enzyme, with help of calcium ions converts inactive prothrombin to active thrombin.
- Thrombin in presence of calcium ions reacts with soluble Fibrinogen to convert it to insoluble Fibrin.
- This fibrin forms mess at the wound and blood clotting is done.
hope it helps..
