At first platypus and evhidna comes under Mamalia group. So Mamal's have 4 chamberd hearts .They have mammary gland for production of milk to nourish their young .Also their skin has hairs as well as sweat gland. So from all these following both r considered as mamal.
They are mostly terestial and live in warmer regions.Their body is covered with scale's.Most reptiles have 2 pair of limbs. They lay eggs with tough covering. They don't need water for lay eggs.So crocodile considered as a reptile.

ANSWER: Believe it or not, platypusesare not the only mammals that lay eggs. Mammals that lay eggs are called monotremes and includeplatypuses and echidnas, both of which live in Australia. ... Somemammals lay eggs; some snakes give birth to live young.
