Platypus and echidna are egg laying mammals it is thought that they form a link between reptiles and mammals because they possesses the features which are peculiar to both reptiles and mammals
1.like reptiles they lay eggs
2.they have mammary glands and nurse their young ones where as reptiles never do so sir which we can group them under mammals .
3.they are warm blooded animals where as reptiles are cold blooded
