Answer:

(-2)^(m+1) x (-2)^3 = (-2)^9

we know

a^m x a^n = a^(m+n)

use this

then we get

(-2)^(m+1+3) = (-2)^9

(-2)^(m+4) = (-2)^9

can be written as

(-2)^(m+4) = (-2)^(5+4)

m + 4 = 5 + 4

on comparing both sides

we get

m = 5

thus m = 5

hope this will help you

Answer:

according to the formulae of indices

the powers which are having the same based than the value is calculated by ignoring the Base

hence the solution is

m+1+3=9

hence m=9-4=5
