Draw a diagonal AC the quadrilateral will be divided into two triangles
Namely, ABC and triangle ADC
In triangle ABC,
Area of ABC=1/2 X base X height
=1/2 X 9 X 40
=180 cm²
Similarly area of triangle ADC can be calculated by Heron's formula
Hence,
Area of quadrilateral ABCD=ar(ABC) + ar(ABC)

Hope it helps you.
