If (x+1) is the factor of 2x^3-9x^2+x+12

then x=-1 is the root of 2x^3-9x^2+x+12=0

put x=-1 in eq.

-1-9-1+12=0

since (x+1) is the factor

similarly (2x-3)is the factor
