(i) The coming of the ENGLISH EAST INDIA COMPANY was a curse because of the following reasons:

• They used to steal all the money of India and only a little direction to the long history and march on culture of India.
• Lord Curzon divided Bengal into two saying that it was a large state. However the actual reason of him dividing the region was that he wanted to drive a wedge between Hindus and Muslims.
• Heavy tax was imposed.
• There was bloodshed due to events like the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
