Answer:

The two no. whose some is 100 and ratio is 9:16 are 36 and 64 .

36+64 =100

36/64 = 9/16

So the required numbers are 36 and 64.

Another method :-

Let the numbers be x and y

Therefore , by given conditions

x + y = 100………… eqn (1)

x / y = 9/16 ……… eqn (2)

By eqn (1),

x = 100 - y

By eqn (2) ,

16x = 9y

16 (100 - y) = 9 y

1600 - 16y = 9y

1600 = 9y + 16y

1600 = 25y

y = 1600/25

y = 64 .

Therefore , one number is 64 .

For another number put this value of y in eqn (1) we get,

x + 64 = 100

x = 100 - 64

x = 36.

So the other number is 36.

Therefore the required numbers are 64 and 36.

Hope it will help :-)

\large{\mathtt{\blue{\underline{\blue{Question:-}}}}}

Find two numbers whose sum is 100 and whose ratio is 16 : 9.

\large{\mathtt{\red{\underline{\red{Solution:-}}}}}

Let the numbers be = 16x and 9x

Their sum is = 100

A.T.Q.

=> 16x + 9x = 100

=> 25x = 100

=>  x = \dfrac{100}{25}

=>  x = \dfrac{\cancel{100}}{\cancel{25}}

\huge{\boxed{\mapsto{\green{x\:=\:4}}}}

Now substituting the value of 'x' in 16x and 9x

\huge{\boxed{\mapsto{\purple{16\:x\:=\:16×4\:=\:64}}}}

\huge{\boxed{\mapsto{\red{9\:x\:=\:9×4\:=\:36}}}}

Hope it helps........
