1.Scientists classify organisms in order to study and include each organism along with its identification and habitat. It helps in the specific identification of any givenorganism from a pool. ... Scientistsclassify organisms in order to understand their characteristics.

2.The primary characteristic on which the broad division of organisms is made is nature of cell .Based on this we classify all organism as prokaryotic or eukaryotic.

3.Annelids || Arthropods

The circulatory system of annelids is closed. || Arthropods have an open circulatory system.

The body is divided into several identical segments. || The body is divided into few specialized segments.

Appendages are absent in Annelids. || Arthropods have joined appendages.

4.Amphibians include salamanders, toads, and frogs. One difference between the two is the structure of their outer skin.Reptiles are covered with scales, shields, or plates, and their toes have claws.Amphibians, on the other hand, have moist, glandular skins, and their toes lack claws.

6.The advantages of classifying organisms are as follows:

(i) Classification facilitates the identification of organisms.

(ii)  helps to establish the relationship among various groups of organisms.

(iii) helps to study the phylogeny and evolutionary history of organisms.

(iv) By studying a few animals, the characteristics of the whole group can be known.

7.Vertebrates are classified further into sub-groups on the basis of simple to complex forms of structures and their functions. Examples. Pisces, amphibia, reptilia, aves and mammals.

Pisces:  They are aquatic, cold blooded animals. Their heart has two chambers. Their body is covered by scales or plates. They lay eggs and perform respiration through gills. Their endoskeleton is made up of cartilage. e.g. Fishes

Amphibians:  They are cold blooded animals and live in both water and land. Respiration is through gills, lungs, skin. They have three chambered heart. e.g. Frogs.

Reptiles: They are cold blooded animals. They have three chambered heart and they breathe through lungs.

Aves: They are warm blooded animal, oviparous vertebrates covered with feathers. They have a four chambered heart and perform respiration by lungs. e.g. Birds

Mammals: They are warm blooded animal with four chambered heart. They are viviparous and possess characteristics like pinna and hair on skin and canine. e.g. Humans
