Answer :

Let, the cost price of the motor cycle for Ravish is Rs. x

He sold it to Vineet at a loss of 28%

So, the selling price is

= Rs (x - \frac{28x}{100})

= Rs \frac{100x-28x}{100}

= Rs \frac{72x}{100}

Vineet repaired it for Rs 1680 so the total price for him be

= Rs (\frac{72x}{100} + 1680)

= Rs \frac{72x+16800}{100}

Then, Vineet repared sold it to Rahul for Rs 35910 and made a profit of 12.5%

Then,

\frac{72x+16800}{100} + (\frac{72x+16800}{100} \times \frac{12.5}{100}) = 35910

 \to \frac{72x + 168000}{100} (1 + \frac{12.5}{100} ) = 35910 \\ \\ \to \frac{72x + 168000}{100} \times \frac{112.5}{100} = 35910 \\ \\ \to 112.5 \times (72x + 168000) = 359100000 \\ \\ \to 8100x + 18900000 = 359100000 \\ \\ \to 8100x = 359100000 - 18900000 \\ \\ \to 8100x = 340200000 \\ \\ \to x = 42000

Therefore, the required cost price for Ravish is Rs 42000
