1 answer

One number is as much as greater than seventeen and less than 47
Let the number equal to x
Equation will be
x-17=47-x
2x equals to 64
x equals to 32

2 answer

Let the no. Is x
ATQ.
x/3=x/5+6
x/3-x/5=6
Taking Lcm of 3 and 5 gives 15
5x-3x/15 equals to 6
2x equals to 90
x equals to 45

3 answer

Let the 2 numbers be x and y
Atq.
x equals to y +8
Or x-y=8 (eq 1)
And
x plus y is 80 (eq 2)
Applying elimination method on y..
x-y=8
x+y=80 (ADDITION HERE)

It gives 2x = 88 and x is 44
Substituting x in eq 1 gives
44-y =8
-y=8 - 44
-y=-36
And y is 36.

4 answer
Piggy bank has 1 2 5 and 10 rs coins.
Number of 10 rs coin is four times the number of 5 rs.. 8 times the number of 2 rs and 16 times of 1 rs.

Number of 10 rs coins equals to ?
And total sum is 555..
I CANT DO THIS.. MAYBE LATER

5 answer

Present ratio of their ages is 7 : 2
8 years hence the ratio becomes 5 : 2.
Let Age of Asha is 7x and Sushma 2x
Acc to ques
7x+8/2x+8=5/2
14x+16=10x+40
x equals to 6.
Age of Asha is 7x or 7*6=42
And Sushma is 2x or 12

6 answer

SP is 432
P percent is 8
CP=SP*100/100+p%
=432*100/108
=16*25
=400

pinakimandal53: Well, thanks for showing your kindness for helping me.
pinakimandal53: I answer 5, I am having little problem in constructing the equation. I understood whole question, just problem in constructing the equation.
pinakimandal53: In answer 5
pinakimandal53: Hint for answer 4 written in my book: "Let the number of Rs. 10 coins be x. Then, 10x + 5(x/4) +"2(x/8) + 1(x/16) = 555" I just can't understand the way of construction of equation.
pinakimandal53: In the hint given for 4th answer, 5(x/4) means that 5 is multiplied by a fraction x/4.
