Q no. 3 (c) - Transpiration is one of the major criteria in the day time in plants which helps the water to be pulled. 98% of the water absorbed by the plants is again is lost in transpiration. So, Water transpired is the water absorbed as this water transpired helps in the absorption of water by roots.

(d) - Transpiration is the evaporative loss of water through the aerial parts of the plants especially through the leaves. ... In dicot plants leaves will have more stomata on the lower surface than the upper surface. So more transpiration occurs through the lower surface of the leaves of this plant.

1) It is said that the amount of water transpired is the amount of water absorbed as when water is transpired it creates a pressure gradient between root and soil and it results in the absorption of water to balance the quantity of water in plant. This mechanism is called Transpiration Pull.

2) As in dorsiventral leaf has more number of stomata is present in the lower side as compared to upper side that is why transpiration is higher at that place.

3) As there is deposition of organic and inorganic materials in Cork and Bark which resists the loss of water inside from the plant.

4) Perspiration and transpiration helps in loss of water from the body and along with The heat of body is lost and it cools the body of organism. Heat is lost as the water from body surface when evaporates the latent heat of evaporation is taken from the body.
