C1

The temperature at which the average velocity of the oxygen molecule be sufficient so as to escape earth will be 91232 Kelvin

The average speed of a gas molecule is given by;

v = \sqrt{\frac{8RT}{\pi M } }

Given

escape velocity = 11000 m/s

R = 25/3

M = 16 g/mole = 16 x 10⁻³ kg/mole

Hence,

11000 = √(8 x 25/3 x T/π x 16x10⁻³)

=> (121 x 10⁶) x 10⁻³ = 200T/48π

=> T = 121000 x 48 x 3.14/200

=> T = 91232 Kelvin

Hence the temperature at which the average velocity of the oxygen molecule be sufficient so as to escape earth will be 91232 Kelvin
