6th term = 19

17th term = 41

a+5d= 19

a+16d= 41

- -

- 11d= -22d

a + 5(2) = 19

a=19-10

a=9

hence, 40th term = a+39d

= a+39(2)

=9+78

= 87

Answer= 87.
