Hence 5dozen ________12×5 = 60 eggs

A/Q 5 % got broken

let the spoiled eggs be x

=> x/60× 100 = 5 %

=> 5×60/100 = 3eggs spoiled

After that

Cost price of whole eggs means cost of 5dozen eggs
5 _______________5× 36 = 180 ₹

After all he sold the remaining eggs 48₹ per dozen

remaining eggs = 60 - 3 = 57 eggs

hence , 1 eggs __________ 48/12 = 4₹ per eggs

57 eggs ________________4×57 = 228 ₹

Now , gain = Sp - Cp

gain ₹ = 228 - 180 = 48₹ gain

gain % = gain/cp ×100

gain% = 48/180×100

gain% = 40%
