= x = 2y............... (1)

Case2.

= their age 5 years ago

= shriya age = y-5 years

= arjun's age = x-5 years

= According to the question

= x-5 = 3(y-5)

= x-5 = 3y-15

= x-3y = -10

= 2y-3y = -10

= -y = -10

= y = 10 years.

put the value of y in (1)

x = 20 years.


hence their present age = shriya = 10 years.

= arjun age = 20 years.
