  • There are a total of 3375 students in the school.

EXPLANATION

 \large \: \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   { \underline{ \underline{ \sf { \red{Given :  - }}}}}

  • The ratio of girls to the boys in a school is 4:5.
  • Number of girls in 1500.

 \large \: \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   { \underline{ \underline{ \sf { \green{To \:  Find :  - }}}}}

  • The number of boys in that school.
  • The number of students on the school.

 \large \: \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   { \underline{ \underline{ \sf { \orange{Analysis:  - }}}}}

Here, we have to find number of boys first. As we know the number of students in class is 1500, we can find the number of boys easily.

Topic used- Linear Equation in one Variable.

 \large \: \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   { \underline{ \underline{ \sf { \blue{Solution:  - }}}}}

✴️ According to the Question:-

 \rightarrow  \sf  \frac{girls}{boys}  =  \frac{4}{5}

  • We know the number of girls in the school.
  • Let the number of boys be x.

 \implies \sf  \frac{1500}{x}  =  \frac{4}{5}

  • By cross multiplication.

 \implies \sf  {1500} \times {5}  = {4}{x}

 \implies \sf  7500  = {4}{x}

 \implies \sf  \frac{7500}{4}   = {x}

 \implies \sf  1875= {x}

☃️So, there are 1875 boys in the school.

✴️Now, let us find the number of students in the school.

 \rightarrow \sf boys + girls = no. \: of \: students

 \implies \sf 1875 + 1500= no. \: of \: students

 \implies \sf 1875 + 1500= 33750

☃️So, there are 3375 students in the school.

Answer:

Total number of boys in school 1875.

Total number of students in school 3375.

Explanation:

Since

\dfrac{ no.\ of\ girls}{no.\ of\ boys} = \dfrac{4}{5}

Now let the number of girls = 4x   -(i)

So, no. of boys = 5x                      --(ii)

According to question,

The number of girls = 1500 = 4x

Solving for x returns 15*25 = 375

Using this value of x in (ii)

No. of boys = 5 * 375 = 1875

Total number of students in school =  number of girls + number of boys

= 1500+1875

=3375
