It is the part where reproduction takes place... the male part of flower is androecium and female part is gynoecium, androecium produces pollen grains. The pollen grains are taken by insect( or through air) which comes to suck nectar(honey) from it .The pollen grains are stick to insects legs and when the insect reaches the female part gynoecium where ovary is present ....hence pollen grains enters the ovary and reproduction takes place which results in the formation of fruit

sowmya36: thanks for ur detailed answer
vengateshrg2000: your welcome
